TRIAL WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ANDORRA (LA RABASSA)

Spectacular victory
for Albert Cabestany

Albert Cabestany performed an authentic riding exhibition in one of the most technically challenging races of the year, sweeping away the competition from the very start of the trial. The trial in Andorra is one that is characterized by high altitude; many of the sections are above 2,000 meters. After the first lap it was obvious that this was a special day for Albert, he finished with only three points, five less than his closest competitor, the Japanese rider Takahisa Fujinami. Albert also had the best second lap with only four points, the time was very tight and he was penalized one time penalty point for an incredible total of eight points. This was an outstanding victory for the Sherco rider, his second of the year, this victory moved him up to third place in the provisional standings.

Albert Cabestany: “This victory, the second of the season and my fourth consecutive podium is the fruit of the greater amount of time that I have been able to spend with Lluis Gallach and the rest of the team. It was a very difficult trial, but today was my day and everything went perfect. There is only one race left in the season, however I am going to do everything I can to move up to second place, which is still a mathematical possibility.”
